Lecturer in Geophysics (Teaching & Research)
The School Physical, Chemical and Environmental Sciences is looking to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in Geophysics who will join the Department Earth and Environmental Sciences.
The successful candidate should share our passion for high quality research and research-led education and will contribute to a range of undergraduate Earth and Environmental Science teaching including lectures and workshops, geoscience practical classes and fieldwork, and supervision of undergraduate and taught postgraduate research and placement projects in both Cardiff University and Cardiff University Kazakhstan. You will also co-supervise postgraduate research students. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of the ability to develop and sustain an internationally-recognised, externally-funded research programme in geophysics. We are particularly interested in hiring academics who can develop synergies within our existing research portfolio and whose research includes at least one of the following: (1) geophysics as applied to the green energy transition, geo-energy, geo-hazards and the management of Earth resources; and (2) development and/or application of geophysical methods, including computational, observational, and theoretical approaches.

Salary: £41,064 - £46,049 per annum (Grade 6)
