Cardiff University is seeking a visionary leader to be our next Head of the School of Engineering. One of the largest Schools in the University, Engineering has a community of approximately 2,000 students and 100 academic staff. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering, the Head of School will provide strategic leadership across education, research, knowledge exchange and innovation within the School, and will contribute to the leadership of the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering.

Applicants will have an outstanding academic track record and a strong record of leading large, complex academic groupings, with the ability to deliver change in an inclusive and ambitious way.
The successful applicant will be appointed to a substantive role within the School of Engineering in addition to the Head of School position. The Head of School position is full time for five years, with an extension of three years by mutual consent, after which the holder will transfer to their substantive role within the School. The position has a non-pensionable annual allowance.
